It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

This week I started decorating for Christmas. I bought this Christmas Village at Mervyn's in 1996. There is an odd thing about it. The figures are out of scale with the village houses. No one could possibly be taller than the door to the village houses, or larger than the train...but these little Christmas figures are. :o)

Every year when I take it out for display I wonder why whoever designed the houses and the figures did this. I love how it looks set up in the bay window.

Before quilting I painted. Watercolor, oils and porcelain. Here are a few old world porcelain Santa's I've painted over the years. I'll show you a few of them. There are fifteen or more. Many of them I have given away to family and friends. They are about 10" tall and I scatter them throught out the house. Here is one of my favorites. This Santa looks like he is bending with the wind!

My sister gifted me this minature glass domed tree. I treasure it. It is decorated with tiny very detailed ornaments. Minature toys and tiny foil wrapped package are r carefully placed under what appears to be dark green chenille pipe cleaner tree branches. Someone took a great deal of time and care to craft this Christmas scene.

In case you are wondering with all the decorating if I've been sewing with my new machine....Yes! Miss Ellie' and I have not been idle!

This Snow Fun embroidery design and directions for making the pillowcase can be found at Snowladies website. I used white Fairy Frost fabric for the cuffs on all the pillowcases.

Hope your Christmas is looking bright!
