However, when one stops to consider the era in which Get Real was released, it becomes obvious the blend of classic metal, melodic metal and straightforward hard rock delivered by A.N.D. might not be considered, well, flavor of the month. And by no means is that a band thing in light of the quality music here. With an eighties influenced sound certain to appeal to those into Barren Cross, Saint, Bloodgood, Letter 7 and Mad Max, A.N.D. gives prominence to a more than fair share of guitar driven muscle and just the right amount of notable hooks and melodies to pull you in. And nowhere is that more evident than up-tempo hard rockers “Babylon” and “The Day” in addition to the heavier classic metal influenced sounds of “King” and “Overdrive”. A straightforward hard rock – almost bluesy – direction is taken on “For Sale” and “The Way” (fans of Rez Band will get into these two) but when A.N.D. chooses to mellow things out, such as the laid back ballad “Young Man” and the atmospheric acoustic laced “Touch The Sky”, it can put together a quality composition as well.
A.N.D. is fronted by Vocalist and lead Guitarist Paul May. Bringing a raspy and even mid-octave vocal style, May does not quite posses the range and power of contemporaries Mike Lee (Barren Cross), Les Carlson (Bloodgood) or Josh Kramer (Saint). And that is where the problem lies. Despite putting forth an all around solid showing, May has his limitations vocal wise, reflected in several shaky and unsettled moments found throughout the project. It is in the area of lead guitar, on the other hand, that May shines. Proving quite the talented player, he delivers an abundance of flashy and at times bluesy lead guitar work. Just check out his fiery soloing on “King” and “Babylon” or the grittier direction taken on “For Sale” and “The Way”. “Overdrive”, a track which is half instrumental, gives him the opportunity to showcase his abilities as well. It is worth noting that guitarist John Wylde is given credit as being part of the band in the liner notes but did not perform on the album. Bassist Mick Ponter and Drummer Lance Blackwood round out the rhythm section. While production values are competent in allowing for sonics of a crisp and clean sounding nature, I cannot help but think the low end could have come across heavier and the rhythm guitar beefed up in places. Still, nothing detracting here.Lyrically, Get Real can best be described as a boldly Christian effort in addressing topics ranging from TV preachers, the day of judgment and need for salvation.“King” gets underway to a bass guitar solo before a hammering guitar riff takes over the mix. The song proceeds to advance through its first and second verse in driving fashion as the person of Christ is portrayed:After tapering off for a passage carried by pronounced spoken word delivery, “King” closes out its final thirty seconds to an instrumental section shored up by a blazing guitar solo. The hard rocking momentum is maintained on the catchy “Babylon”. Impelled at an upbeat tempo its full length by a double bass driven riff, this one proves quite the energetic number that would do Barren Cross or Sacred Warrior proud. As a matter of fact, the raw feel to the songs delivery almost brings to mind “Dead Lock” (off Barren Cross’ sophomore outing Atomic Arena) while the double bass action has Tony Velazquez (Sacred Warrior) written all over it. “For Sale” is a gritty Rez Band style hard rocker. The song proceeds through its verse portions to a heavy duty bass line as the rhythm guitar crashes in and out of the mix. Upon reaching its sharp sounding chorus, however, the rhythm guitar moves to an unwavering place in the mix. Another example of razor sharp lead work (kind of reminds me of Stevie Ray Vaughan) helps put “For Sale” over the top. The message here deals with TV preachers..“Under Law” begins quietly before taking off to a quickly moving guitar riff. Tapering off to a forward wall of rhythm guitar upon reaching its first verse, the song picks up in pace for a smooth sounding chorus reinforced by vocal harmonies. “Under Law” is a song of faith:“Young Man” slowly and calmly drifts ahead in a laid back manner from the start, the compelling melody imbued only serving to enhance the tranquil scene. As the song reaches its three minute mark, the rhythm guitar abruptly crashes into the mix and carries things to their close with an abundance of driving momentum. The aptly titled “Overdrive” is an aggressive piece with some guitar riffs reminiscent to Saint. The song commences to a drum solo before storming ahead to a deluge of rhythm guitar, peaking as it picks up in pace for a catchy chorus pointing to the One true Light:Some of the albums finest moments take place as “Overdrive” closes out its final two and a half minutes in instrumental fashion (plenty of tasteful lead work provided by May and Wylde). Great song.“The Day” storms out of the gate at an upbeat tempo to a swell of rollicking double bass, the dogged environment upheld for a brief but resonant chorus backed by a hammering rhythm guitar. Fast and energetic but catchy, this one brings to mind Sacred Warrior’s “Children Of Light” (off Rebellion) with its non-stop work on double bass. “The Day” is aptly named:I might describe “The Way” as boogie flavored hard rock (there is a real seventies feel here) with a blues based edge. Beginning its first minute to a guitar driven instrumental section, the song moves through its first and second verse as May’s raspy voice trades off with a gritty rhythm guitar. The fleeting chorus that follows presents a simple but straightforward message:The laid back ballad “This Child” is upheld its distance by a pleasing amalgamation of acoustic guitar and harmonica. Very nice melody and lyrical direction as well.A.N.D. saves one of its best for last with the atmospheric sounds of “Touch The Sky”. The albums longest piece at just under nine minutes, the song slowly moves through its verse portions to a gentle melding of acoustic guitar and guitar feedback. As its aesthetically pleasing chorus is procured, however, “Touch The Sky” picks up the pace as the rhythm guitar steps forward with just the right amount of edge. All the while the scene is decorated by just the right amount of technical lead guitar work. Beautiful song. Get Real proves quite the consistent effort in that all ten of its songs hold up under repeated play. Yes, there is a bit of variety here – including classic metal, hard rock and acoustic pieces – but the strength of the songwriting puts things over the top. The quality lead guitar work is another positive worth emphasizing. On the other hand, the area of lead vocals, while far from bad, might have potentially prevented the band from reaching great long term acclaim. And long term, unfortunately, proves the key word here in that following Get Real A.N.D. was never heard from again.http://christianrockzone.listen2myradio.com/..

After the two recruited the musicians making up the bands first official line up, the new hard rocking unit proceeded to tour Poland, the Ukraine and its native Sweden before entering the studio and recording a 2-song vinyl single entitled Right On Time. Talented keyboardist Jan Samefors later joined the fold in the early nineties and in 1994 helped Emotion record its five song EP Tip To Toe. Bringing in Drummer Mats Ohlsson in 1996, the band put together its full length debut Taste Of Grapes and released it in Scandinavia and Japan the very next year. While Tip To Toe and Taste Of Grapes have been hard to find and obscure collectors items for years, the good news is that both were recently digitally re-mastered and re-issued with new album artwork by Retroactive Records. What Emotion brings to the table is a blend of 70s style keyboard driven hard rock and 80s influenced melodic metal. No, nothing new or groundbreaking and this had been done countless times before; on the other hand, it is always good to hear this again- particularly when it is of a very high quality. And such is the case here. Fans of old school Swedish hard rock acts such as Leviticus, XT, Jerusalem, Motherlode and Charizma will rejoice as will those into Laudamus, Audiovision, Narnia, Guardian and Shout. Catchy hooks abound, best showcased on tracks such as “Welcome To My House”, “Taste Of Grapes”, “Cloak Of Love” and “Love Is Over Me”. Some of the material here really grooves or even comes across bluesy at times. So there is ample variety to keep your attention. Mikael Lagermo is a very fine vocalist who reminds me of Sonny Larsson (Motherlode, XT) – though with not quite the same jaw dropping range – but with a hint of grit and gravel to his delivery. Another accurate comparison might be Legend/Legend 7 Vocalist Andy Denton. As a Guitarist, he lays down a nice rhythm Guitar sound but wish he would have cut loose a bit more on lead guitar. Keyboardist Jan Samefors adds just the right amount of texture with his tasteful work on organ and keyboards. Drummer Mats Ohlsson and Bassist Ingemar Martensson put in place a solid foundation for the bands sound. Production values are quite solid but would benefit from a touch of big budget polish. On several tracks, for example, the Rhythm Guitar could have been mixed more prominently while on a few others the Keyboards end up slightly forward. All in all, nothing that might be considered distracting or that will detract from your listening experience.Give Retroactive credit for the high quality of the albums packaging. The album artwork is quite eye catching while a detailed band biography is included along with easy to read lyrics and liner notes. The CD begins with the twelve tracks from Taste Of Grapes. The album gets underway with “Celeste”, a minute long keyboard driven instrumental with an orchestral feel.“Welcome To My House” begins to an instrumental section carried by a nice forward mix of organ. The organ continues to remain a steady presence as the song cruises through its first verse, leading the way to an energetic chorus with a huge catchy hook. The drum solo introducing “Taste Of Grapes” gives way to a blend of organ and pounding drums. Making a time change to an ominous mid-tempo pace at the start of its first verse, the song abruptly gains momentum prior to moving on to a classy chorus delivered in a smooth sounding and infectious manner.“The Burning Spear” opens to an edgy open air rhythm guitar prior to taking off at an upbeat tempo. Moving through its first verse as keyboards play a prominent role in the mix, “The Burning Spear” hits a dead end upon achieving a chorus that fails to hold up due to its all around pedestrian feel. The songs instrumental section – which is carried by a quirky blend of chanted vocal harmonies and clapping hands – can be difficult to tolerate. I tend to skip over this one.“Rendez-vous”, on the other hand, ranks with the albums better compositions. After progressing through its first verse to an even blend of keyboards and bass guitar, the rhythm guitar kicks in and impels the song to a groove-flavored chorus with one of those catchy hooks you will be challenged to rid of your mind. On “Rendez-vous”, Emotion compares the second coming to a literal Rendezvous. “Right To Be Wrong” moves through its verse portions in up-tempo fashion to a rollicking combination of rhythm guitar and organ, tapering off upon reaching a laid back pre-chorus accentuated by a flattering mix of keyboards. The rhythm guitar driven chorus that follows is perfectly shored up by a touch of vocal harmonies. Very compelling track with a lot of time changes to hold your interest.“Fakin’ My Face” takes off in a rhythm guitar and organ driven direction before marching through its first verse to Lagermos’ raspy vocal delivery. Picking up in pace to a hint of backing vocals for its pre-chorus, “Fakin’ My Face” culminates for a strong but aggressively delivered and hard hitting chorus. A keyboard solo carries the extent of a very well done lengthy instrumental section. The ballad “Can’t Hold Back My Tears” gives rise to a noteworthy melody as it is carried its distance by an amalgamation of acoustic guitar and keyboards. A piano solo shores up a brief but well times instrumental section.“When I Fall” starts to an extensive instrumental section showcasing a slowly moving mix of rhythm guitar and organ. Pausing for a few brief seconds of open air rhythm guitar, the song abruptly picks up in pace and advances in quickly moving fashion to a raucous chorus driven by heavy duty backing vocals. This one has a nice bluesy feel to it. “When I Fall” is a song of faith.“How Far Can We Go?”, the albums second ballad, smoothly progresses in an acoustic laced manner until it attains a chorus giving rise to an overriding commercial feel. Perhaps it is a melody on the marginal side or it might be the fact this is the second ballad out of three songs, but more often than not I pass on this one. I can see how others might enjoy “How Far Can We Go?”, though.“Cloak Of Love” really grooves. The song commences to an open air rhythm guitar that is soon joined by an impeccable mix of organ, a grit-laden setting put in place as a driving riff holds sway over its verse portions and keyboards the pre-chorus that follows. A catchy chorus carried by Lagermo’s gritty vocal delivery rates with the albums best. A fiery guitar solo helps highlight a song in which the band makes another statement of faith.“Love Is Over Me” reflects a cool bluesy feel during the slowly moving instrumental section covering its opening. Gaining momentum in guitar driven fashion at the start of its first verse, “Love Is Over Me” tapers off before exuding a ton of charisma as it arrives at a chorus with a great commercial flavored hook. I really enjoy how the pace slows for an instrumental section bolstered by ethereal guitar feedback. This one is guaranteed to have you singing along in no time.In summary, Taste Of Grapes showcases several first rate compositions in “Welcome To My House”, “Taste Of Grapes”, “Rendez-vous”, “Cloak Of Love” and “Love Is Over Me”. And while I might occasionally skip over “The Burning Spear” and “How Far Can We Go?”, the rest of its material is well constructed and easily holds up under repeated play.Of the five songs making up the EP Tip To Toe, two - “Rendez-vous” and “Fakin’ My Face” – were re-recorded by the band for Taste Of Grapes. So we will skip over both of these in the track by track analysis and focus on the three that are unique to Tip To Toe.“Tip To Toe” is an exciting groove flavored hard rocker. Proceeding through its first verse to a forward mix of rhythm guitar, momentum is gained until the song peaks for an attitude-laden chorus bolstered by just the right amount of vocal harmonies. Subsequent to a church organ getting “Wholeness And Holiness” underway, it makes a time change to an up-tempo pop flavored beat prior to arriving at a strong, radio friendly chorus. This one reflect a neat AOR vibe (sort of like Petra)- and the band pulls it off without a hitch. The album closes in a very fine manner to the piano and keyboard based ballad “Way Over Jordan”. The best way to sum up would be to give a great deal of credit to Retroactive Records for making Taste Of Grapes and Tip To Toe available for the first time in literally years.http://christianrockzone.listen2myradio.com/.
THIS ALBUM CONTAIN(12-TRACKS)1-MESSENGERS OF LOVE2-FANTASY3-REVELATION-GOS HAS THE POWER4-YOUR LOVE5-FREE6-SPARKLING DIAMOND7-THE SEVENTH SEAL8-VISION OF TOMORROW9-BORN AGAIN10-BREAK OUT11-ETERNAL LOVE12-THE CALLINGCREDITS:Mark Bjorvant – Lead VocalsGeir T. Ugland – Guitars & BassGeir Knutson – Guitars & BassTrygve Hansen – DrumsThe band was originally called REVELATION and was formed in the fall of 1985 in Kristiansand, NORWAY. One listen and it’s apparent that the band was strongly influenced by such artists as Yngwie Malmsteen, MSG, TNT, andmodeled after classic twin guitar bands of the 70s and early 80s like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. After recording two demos between 1987 and 1988, the band was well received in their hometown of Kristiansand and the band did. Receiving local radio play in Oslo resulted in the band getting signed by the local office of the Dutch label CNR. The full length debut CD Messengers of Love was subsequently recorded in July/August of '88 at Loud Level Studios in Hamar, Norway, and due to a name conflict with another band on the label, the band changed its name to SEVENTH SEAL. However, when presented with the finished product, the label gave the band a cold shoulder and never released it. Trying to push on despite the let down by the label, the band stayed active on the live front until the summer of '89, and the studio eventually decided to release the album on its own label, Loud Level Records, but not until 1990 after the band had already disbanded. The record was never properly promoted, and only about 1000 copies were ever released.Retroactive Records thrives on being able unearth some hidden treasures. Messengers of Love easily qualifies as a Norwegian metal masterpiece. Complete with twin guitar attack, Yngwie-styled guitar solos, and soaring vocals in the vein of Sacred Warrior and Geoff Tate of Queensryche, the remastered reissue of this ultra rare 1990 progressive metal release is sure to please metal fans across the globe.Seventh Seal, as one would expect, reflects the musical trends of the decade it came out of, combining elements of melodic metal, melodic rock and neo-classical metal to create a sound certain to appeal to fans of other Northern European bands such as Leviticus, Motherlode, Emotion and TNT. Yngwie Malmsteen and MSG must be mentioned as well along with Stryper, Dokken, Siloam, Holy Soldier and Impellitteri. The influence of the previously mentioned acts can be found in up-tempo numbers such as the hook driven “Messengers Of Love”, the edgy “God Has The Power” and “Free” (a song that has Stryper written all over it) in addition to the neo-classical flavorings of “Visions Of Tomorrow” (a stunning piece), the catchy “Break Out” and album closer “The Calling”. Some of the finest moments to Messengers Of Love, nevertheless, take place on its ballads in that “Your Love”, “Sparkling Diamond” and “Eternal Love” all stand out with notable melodies. The talent level of Seventh Seal is without question. Vocalist Mark Bjorvant, with his high end and classic tenor lead vocal style, is a near dead ringer for Sonny Larsson (Motherlode, XT). Other accurate comparisons might be Lee Guthrie (Siloam), Tony Harnell (TNT) or even Mikael Lagermo (Emotion). In the end, what we have is a guy with near unlimited range who cuts loose with more than his fair share of high pitched falsettos. And that is a very good thing. Guitarists Geir T. Ugland and Geir Knutson bring the same high level of ability. When listening to the dual lead work of the two on “Messengers Of Love”, “God Has The Power”, “Visions Of Tomorrow” and others I am reminded of Malmsteen, Chris Impellitteri, Rex Carroll (Whitecross) and Carl Johan Grimmark (Narnia). Yes, the quality is that high.Production values are competent but would have improved with an element of big budget polish. No, nothing that will detract from your listening experience, but I cannot help but think things could have been beefed up in places (such as the albums low end). Obviously a low budget project, my overall feeling is that I am thankful to have the opportunity to hear this for the first time.Messengers Of Love proves a very bold and upfront Christian effort with a lyrical direction capturing the spirit of the White Metal movement that got its start in the mid-eighties.The albums title track opens to a brief hint of vocal harmonies before transitioning to the energetic guitar riff that holds sway over its verse portions in up-tempo fashion. Maintaining the vibrant momentum, “Messengers Of Love” moves on to a non-stop hook filled chorus that will pull you in and refuse to let go. A riveting dual lead guitar trade off brings out the best in a song that is aptly named,Your Love”, the first of the albums three ballads, begins to a blend of acoustic guitar and guitar feedback. Advancing through its verse portions acoustically, impetus is gained as the song breaks out for a poignantly delivered chorus backed by just the right amount of ardent rhythm guitar. All in all, the emotion and power of “Your Love” brings to mind Holy Soldier’s “The Pain Inside Of Me” (off the bands self-titled debut).Initiated by vocal harmonies, “Free” takes off at an upbeat tempo only to taper off as a muscular rhythm guitar fortifies its first verse hard and heavy. The compelling chorus that ensues is accentuated by an even trace of keyboards. This one proves uncannily similar to Stryper’s “Free” (from To Hell With The Devil) in terms of not only the music but lyrics as well.“Fantasy” is a short (2:13) instrumental shored up its distance by keyboards and slowly (but emotionally) played guitar. The symphonic flavored introduction to “God Has The Power” gives way to a forward mix of rhythm guitar. Charging ahead with a deluge of resolve, the song culminates for a euphonic chorus talking about opening your heart to God’s love:The ballad “Sparkling Diamond” commences to a short stretch of rhythm guitar only to settle down to a quietly played guitar line upon reaching its first verse. The rhythm guitar returns in time, however, to drive a stylish chorus in which Bjorvand showcases the abundant range to his voice. “Sparkling Diamond’ represents a synonym for God.The Seventh Seal”, coming in at just a minute and a half, features narration from the book of Revelation carried over keyboards. The Drum solo at the start of “Visions Of Tomorrow” is soon replaced by a symphonic based riff. Moving through its first verse with the rhythm guitar maintaining a forward place in the mix, the song makes an even transition to a chorus in which a majestic environment is put into place. Another lengthy stretch of neo-classical influenced lead guitar helps make this one of the albums better tracks. “Visions Of Tomorrow” maintains the apocalyptic themes started with “The Seventh Seal” And "Born Again” jumps out of the gate in quickly moving fashion, sustaining the stalwart initiative during its verse portions prior to obtaining a vibrant chorus dealing with the salvation experience.A run of blazing dual lead work sustains another extensive instrumental section.“Break Out” starts to a hard hitting guitar riff prior to picking up in pace and proceeding through its verse portions at the more determined tempo. Briefly pausing, the song smoothly makes its way to a brief but catchy chorus with a hook of the abundant variety. I enjoy how “Break Out” tapers off during its instrumental section to a joining of pounding drums and guitar feedback (similar to Rage Of Angels' “Are You Ready For Thunder?”). Several relevant questions are asked here.“Eternal Love” brings the same high quality as the albums other ballads, “Your Love” and “Sparkling Diamond”. An emotional atmosphere is put into place the duration of the song as a melodic based chorus (bolstered by a crisp rhythm guitar) is combined with a very moving vocal performance from Bjorvant. “Eternal Love” talks about the search for exactly that “The Calling” gets underway to a drum solo before launching into a driving guitar riff, a superfluity of energy generated as the way is paved for an extended chorus standing out as a result of its palatial feel. Ugland and Knutsen put on a virtual clinic with another display of their trademark radiant lead guitar work. A strong ending to a very fine album.http://christianrockzone.listen2myradio.com/.

Straight ahead, in your face, progressive metal with all the prog signatures you'd expect yet delivering a memorable & accessible hard rock sound.Debut disc by these progressive metal veterans. Just talking About the Universe... So Far, finds the quartet hammering mind blowing, bone crushing tracks that is sure to please even die-hard collectors. If you are familiar with torman maxt from their other releases (The Foolishness of God & The Problem of pain, Part 1)And The Album. Torman Maxt - (Just Talking About the Universe...So Far)The Album. First off, it needs to be said that Torman Maxt presents a rather original brand of Prog-Metal, as the structures of all of the songs on the album are mostly based on the classical acoustic guitar passages, - often even in those parts where there are heavy 'metallic' riffs playing a prominent role. Actually, each of the album's tracks consist of contrasting interchanges of mid-tempo to fast Prog-Metal arrangements and slow to mid-tempo Art-Rock-ish ones. Especially impressive are those parts in which heavy soloing riffs work rapidly, whereas all of the basic arrangements go temperately. Half of the album's songs represent genuine Classic Prog-Metal, full of complex and diverse instrumental and vocal arrangements, sudden changes in tempos and musical directions in general; blistering solos and interplay between electric and acoustic guitars, and both at the rhythm-section as well. These songs are: Summer, The Requiem, Ancient 120, Palace of Desire, and Flowers (tracks 2, 3, 7, 8, & 9). Ancient 120 - the only track on the album that contains an excellent keyboard solo. Apart from all of the other essential progressive ingredients, it has a rich symphonic sound and a tense and dramatic overall atmosphere. So it's an absolute winner. The remaining five tracks, including the only instrumental, Life Sketches 2: Morning, represents Neo Prog-Metal. Well, while the arrangements of songs aren't too extensive and diverse, all of them were created within the framework of a unified stylistics, typical for this album as a whole. In this respect, it's an appropriate time to repeat that the structures of the music of Torman Maxt are rather original. They're free of any of the cliches that are so widespread among traditional Neo Prog-Metal acts, including such popular bands as Symphony X, Stratovarius, Rhapsody, etc. Finally, here are a couple of closing remarks. Apart from very tasteful and diverse vocals by Martin DeBourge, there are lots of excellent backing vocals and even choruses on the album. Although I am almost certain that all of the band members sing on the album, the booklet and the back sleeve of the CD are silent regarding backing vocals and a flautist, who played on Flowers. The Problem of Pain: Part 1 is the first of a two album set. It is a rock opera based upon the book of Job from the Old Testament that investigates why God allows evil and human suffering on earth. Most of Part 2 is already recorded and we are committed to a 2008 release.http://christianrockzone.listen2myradio.com/

BIOGRAPHY:Sure, Dave Beegle plays guitar. In fact, he plays guitar so well that peers such as Phil Keaggy calls him "one of the most creative and accomplished guitarists I've met." Progression Magazine labeled Beegle "a guitarist's guitar player" and HM Magazine simply called him "just phenomenal." But Beegle is not "just" a guitarist. He is also a composer, a producer, a teacher, and a musical activist remaining on the cutting edge of contemporary music. Hailing from the robust state of Colorado, Beegle makes an inspired sound that delights music fans willing to look beyond the fickle trends of pop. http://www.davebe

Dave Beegle's latest album, "Beyond the Desert", features Dave Beegle Acoustic Band, a unit including Bassist Mike Olson, Drummer Matt Henderson, percussionist Erik Meyer, and Guitarist Aaron Lee. Guest percussionist Christian Teele adds significantly to the overall rhythmic expression of this recording. The group has been performing together for several years and has created a distinctive world-music sound as a result. The CD is a blend of world and Ethno-alternative fusion with A Hearty kick of rock-n-roll inspired energy, leaving this Progressive Acoustic contribution in a unique musical atmosphere sure to interest those with exotic and sophisticated tastes. From Spanish and Flamenco melodies to Middle Eastern and Balkan flavored arrangements, the Dave Beegle Acoustic Band will take you on a journey 'Beyond the Desert' to a place of tuneful bliss.
Where it all began, however, was with Beegle's electric guitar outlet, Fourth Estate. This groundbreaking power trio led the charge of progressive rock in Colorado in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s. To this day, Beegle still books Fourth Estate gigs, playing with Kenny James and Matt Henderson on Drums and Mike Olson on Bass and Fourth Estate's instrumental music remains dramatic, inspiring, and exotic. New and old Fourth Estate fans are currently enjoying the re-release of the band's debut CD, "Finesse and Fury," re-mastered by rock veteran Stevin McNamara. Another release, "Dustbuster Demos," digs back into the group's earliest recordings to uncover some forgotten gems. Also, Fourth Estate's Electric Masterpiece, "See What I See," featuring their most challenging work on record, has been reissued to offer fans the opportunity to hear it all.It makes sense that so much musical knowledge has been put to work on a wide diversity of other projects. In fact, "Clear the Tracks" is a CD release that pulls together recordings Beegle has done solo and with several band groupings, including Artifact Symphony and Blinddog Smokin'. On stage, Beegle continues to gig with his Classic rock band, the Jurassicasters. But also add Beegles tremendous output as a producer. He has recently produced a new album for Christian acoustic artist Danny Oertli, an alternative rock worship album titled "Live for Heaven," as well as music by contemporary Christian group Simple Truth, the new band helmed by Colorado Guitarist Mike Lopez called Gashead, and Montana Singer-songwriter Bob Hollister. Of course, Beegle not only sits on the producer's side of the glass, but also appears as A Guest Artist on many of the recordings, playing both Guitar and Keyboards.
Dave Beegle also teaches-when he has time. He also continues to demonstrate the Transperformance Automatic Tuning Guitar, featuring the innovative Digital Tuning System. The device allows guitarists to access thousands of tunings at the touch of a finger. This groundbreaking technology has attracted some of the great Guitarists of our era, including Joe Perry, Jimmy Page, and Graham Nash. But Beegle was the first to record with it, on "Finesse and Fury," and to this day, he still introduces the innovative instrument at conventions and special events. Transperformance is currently developing a low cost version of the DTS the can be installed into other Guitars, hinting at a whole new era for the electric guitarists of the world. So go ahead; call Dave Beegle a guitarist. But in this case, the guitarist is only part of the more complete musician-one who lives and breathes music. That's why Guitar Magazine declared that Dave Beegle is "a one-man guitar army." That's why this artist, though he has done plenty, may only be starting to scratch the surface. Beegle continues to play in the Colorado region as well as touring throughout several regions of the US. Hear him live, or hear him on record, the results are the same-awe and respect for a special musician that Great Guitar Sites on the Web called "One of the most renowned underground guitarists of our time.".Dave Beegle has got to be the most criminally underdiscovered guitarist in the instrumental rock genre. The guitarist, along with Fred Babich on bass and Dave Spurr on drums comprise Fourth Estate, a Colorado-based power trio whose CD See What I See is a scorching combination of arpeggiated lines, power chords, Robin Trower-like grooves and attitude. Beegle and company write instrumental music that combines fat-toned emotional fury with inventive guitar work and aggressive arrangements. While drawing comparisons to the likes of Rush and Kings X, neither band has released a record as refreshing and brilliant as See What I See.Beegle began early, playing piano at age 5 and guitar at age 13. His early influences included jazz musicians such as Dave Brubeck and Glen Miller to '70s guitar-based bands such as KISS, Ronnie Montrose, Rick Derringer and, of course, Rush. Beegle currently produces and engineers a variety of projects in the Rocky Mountain region while working on his own material. His band, Fourth Estate, has released two studio albums, Finesse And Fury and See What I See, as well as a live CD, Joy In Rock. Beegle expects to release a solo record that will be primarily progressive acoustic guitar in 1998.Interestingly, Beegle points to the 1994 Arts Fest in Sofia, Bulgaria as the inspiration for the music on See What I See. The musicians in Fourth Estate try, within the rock spectrum, to create mood and texture that allow the listener to imagine for themselves the meanings of the themes and musical impressions. As a result, Beegle, Babich and Spurr find themselves at the forefront of instrumental rock, blazing a trail for creative musicians everywhere. One of the most musical, innovative and exciting groups to ever emerge out of the Rocky Mountain music scene. Performing since 1988, Fourth Estate has released three demo-tapes and three full length compact discs. In 1992, the band released the critically acclaimed Finesse and Fury CD, which featured the first ever recording utilizing the revolutionary Transperformance Self-Tuning Guitar on the song "Routier." Guitarist Dave Beegle and company set out to test the boundries of progressive instrumental music with a fiery mix of lush and masterful soundscapes complemented by ferocious guitar assaults. On November 14th, 1995, the release of See What I See occured. A truly amazing recording that came out right when instrumental music was at an ALL TIME low in regards to the music business. Numerous national and international reviews, articles, and interviews still praised the band's musical approach and boasted about the powerful, visionary recording. In late '97, the band released a limited edition live CD titled "Joy in Rock" which features some truly stunning live performances and a raw, live, loose feel you don't hear much in todays music. The band is also in the process of putting material together for a late 1998 or early 1999 release entitled War of the Worlds Veterans in terms of musicianship, production and performance, Fourth Estate continues to write their own chapter in Rock N' Roll history.http://christianrockzone.listen2myradio.com/.
