Word for 2009

Looking into our closet this evening, I marveled at how the Lord has provided us with "things". We have beautiful clothes and shoes. We have enough shampoo, lotion, toothpaste and razors to last for months and months ~ free through couponing. We even have matching pj sets tucked away for the little ones for Christmas. The word abundance came to mind which shouldn't surprise me. It's my word for 2009.

A group of girlfriends on a homeschool board I'm active on pray and ask the Lord to give us each a word He'd like us to know, to focus on for the year.

Last year, my word was, well really 2 words, be still (which continues "and know that I am God"). A friend from the board reminded me of it when I faced unexpected surgery. What peace a Word from God can bring!

The Lord walked me through that surgery and another one last year as I clung to His word for me. I learned to "be still" in new ways and to see him "as God" in other ways.

There are a great many blessings in a word from the Lord. I encourage you to pray and ask Him for one yourself.
