Ranbir Kapoor nickname Daboo born on September 28, 1982 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India is an upcoming superstar of the bollywood. Born to popular actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, Ranbir is the great grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor and the grandson of actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor. He is the brother of Riddhima Kapoor and his uncles are Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor. Other notable family members include Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Nikhil Nanda, all of whom are his cousins.

Ranbir Kapoor - Daboo new movie

Ranbir has two movies due up for release in 2009. Wake Up Sid with Konkana Sen and Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani with Katrina Kaif. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is an upcoming Bollywood film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Upen Patel are playing lead roles. The film is scheduled to release in June 2009.
The film is said to be a Romantic Comedy and the shooting locations are considered to be Ooty, Mumbai, Goa & Turkey. Rajkumar Santoshi said "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ with Ranbir and Katrina is my first love story, though people seem to think it’s an intense love story - it is not. It has lots of very light very humorous moments. I haven’t worked with Ranbir and Katrina before. So I’m really looking forward to that." 95% of film shooting is complete, and remaining parts will be over by march 2009. All the songs are recorded by Pritam. The film is written jointly by Rajkumar Santoshi & R.D.Tailang Choreography by Ahmed Khan Action by Tinu Verma.


Ranbir Kapoor before acting

Before becoming an actor, Ranbir studied acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. Before starting off his career as an actor, Ranbir worked as an assistant to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, where he was involved in the making of the film Black (2005).

Ranbir Kapoor debut in Bollywood
Ranbir Kapoor made his acting debut in November 2007 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya opposite newcomer Sonam Kapoor. Despite the film failed to do well at the box office, he received many positive reviews from the audiences. Critic, Taran Adarsh commented, "Ranbir Kapoor is supremely talented, no two opinions on that. Yes, he looks handsome, but what you carry home is the sincerity in his performance. If that's the level of performance in his debut film, this lad will only make the Kapoor clan proud in years to come. It's a 10 on 10 for this debutante. For this movie Ranbir won the Film Fare for best male debutant award.
